SY1 is a standalone, purpose-built International Business Exchange™ (IBX) data center located close to the Sydney CBD. This is Equinix’s first Australian facility with direct access to the Southern Cross Cable Head and providing extensive network interconnections in Australia and Asia Pacific region.

This facility enables new and existing customers to securely interconnect with cloud, IT, digital content and financial services ecosystems, as well as customers and partners in their digital supply chain to significantly reduce application and service latency.

It offers expansion space for years to come and with its dark fiber connection to Equinix’s Sydney data centers, provides the resiliency of a dual metro presence and diverse geographical coverage within Australia and beyond.
